This document is issued by a special certification body. To obtain it, you need to submit an application that includes a huge number of certificates and documents. To request a certificate, a company should provide proof of the legitimacy of its activities and detailed technical data on the concrete mixture it produces. You also need to provide the standards by which concrete is produced.
After that, concrete samples are submitted to the certification centre and sent to the laboratory, where they undergo all the necessary tests. The concrete mixture is then assigned the correct type for classification purposes. The certificate is valid for 1-3 years and applies to all concrete produced using the certified technology.
Unlike a certificate, a passport is a one-time document. It confirms the quality of a certain batch of concrete mixture that was produced during a particular work shift. Therefore, the passport should correctly be viewed as a document on the quality of concrete.
This is also a mandatory procedure for the owner of the facility. A specialist conducts the necessary tests of the delivered concrete and compares the results with the data stated in the passport of concrete mixture. This procedure takes only about 15 minutes.
The following concrete qualities are examined:
- mobility;
- harshness;
- the amount of air in the solution;
- temperature of the concrete mixture;
- frost resistance and water resistance if necessary.
